Groton parish will honor late pastor

A memorial Mass will be held for Father Robert Egan, former pastor of St. Anthony’s Church in Groton, on Thursday, Aug. 4. The Mass will take place at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony’s, located on Route 38.

Father Egan died on May 17 in Auburn at age 82. He served as a diocesan priest for more than 50 years, with his lengthiest assignment taking place at St. Anthony’s. He served the Tompkins County parish from 1981 until his retirement in 1997.

Those who would like to bring pictures or memorabilia of Father Egan, or who have a story they would like to share at the Aug. 4 event, should contact Father Scott Kubinski, pastor of St. Anthony’s, at 607/898-5135.
