Passionist Father Rick Frechette, who has visited the Rochester area several times in the past seven years and who has founded an orphanage and hospital in Haiti, has embarked on a flood-relief project.
A number of small towns in Haiti have been devastated by flooding that recently affected both Haiti and the Dominican Republic, according to Father Frechette. Donations are needed to provide food, housing and medical assistance to those in greatest need there.
Robert McNamara, a parishioner at Pittsford’s St. Louis Church, is collecting donations for the flood-relief efforts. McNamara oversees New York Friends of the Orphans, an organization that donates funds to Father Frechette’s hospital and orphanage.
Donations may be sent to Robert McNamara, 66 Stuyvesant Road, Pittsford, NY 14534. Checks marked “flood relief” in the memo area should be made payable to Our Little Brothers and Sisters.
