More than $4,000 was raised during a pasta dinner at Irondequoit’s Bishop Kearney High School for the family of a man killed Oct. 14 by an allegedly drunken driver.
The Dec. 5 fundraiser, which was to aid the family of Michael Civiletti during the holiday season, included a pasta dinner cosponsored by Bishop Kearney Peer Ministers and Keenan’s Restaurant. Civiletti’s survivors include his wife of 21 years, Regina, and their three teenagers, Paul, Marie and Angela, who are all Bishop Kearney students.
The money was raised through donations at the door and through various raffles during the event. Boy Scouts and Scout leaders from Troop 195 served pasta and meatballs to the more than 300 guests. Civiletti was a Troop 195 Scout leader.
Donations are still being accepted for the family through the Civiletti Family Holiday Fund, care of Bishop Kearney High School, 125 Kings Highway South, Rochester, NY 14617.
