Holiday shoppers can take advantage of a Fair Trade/Work of Human Hands bazaar being held in early December.
Bazaar dates are as follows: Friday, Dec. 1, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Catholic Charities of Chemung/Schuyler offices, 215 E. Church St, Elmira; Saturday, Dec. 2, 3 to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 3, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., both at Ss. Peter and Paul Parish Center, 160 High St., Elmira. Food and live music will be part of the Saturday and Sunday festivities.
The bazaar will offer handcrafted gifts, gourmet coffee and chocolate produced by artisans and farmers in developing countries. Purchases will enable these low-income Third World residents to benefit directly.
Fair Trade/Work of Human Hands is an effort by Catholic Relief Services in partnership with A Greater Gift. The local events are sponsored by Catholic Charities and the social-ministry committees of parishes in Chemung County.
