More than 20 people, some homeless, gathered May 29 under the Anthony-Douglass Bridge in downtown Rochester to bring awareness to the plight of Rochester’s homeless population. Many held signs and chanted as they faced rush hour traffic. Sister Grace Miller, who helped organize the rally, spoke to the news media about the importance of finding a temporary housing solution for those living on the street.

Advocates contend that there has been an influx of the homeless onto the streets since the closing of Sanctuary Village on Canal Street. Above, Horace Medlock holds a sign eluding to that claim.
