Guardian Angels Church, 2061 E. Henrietta Road, Henrietta, will host the all-day 2005 Hope Conference for separated, divorced and widowed persons on Saturday, April 2.
The conference theme is “God Grant Me the Serenity.” The theme is taken from the prayer — “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Drawing on the prayer for inspiration, Dr. Dennis Boike, a marriage and family therapist, will give the conference’s 9 a.m. keynote presentation on “To Control Or Not To Control.”
Other workshops will deal with “Healing with Loss”; “Healthy Use of Anger”; “Healing of Memories”; “Healing through the Marriage Annulment Process”; and “Moving On — Becoming Involved.”
Registration begins at 8:15 a.m., and the conference will conclude with a 4:30 p.m. Mass presided over by Bishop Matthew H. Clark. There will be a dinner at 5:30 p.m., and a dance from 7-10 p.m.
Cost for the conference varies. For workshops, lunch dinner and dance, the cost is $30; workshops and lunch are $20; dinner only is $10; dance only is $5. Pre-registration is preferred, and is due by March 23. However, you may register at the door, except for the dinner.
Scholarship money is available for those who are unable to afford the cost.
