To the editor:
The (2011 scheduled priestly) ordination of Scott Caton seems so unfair to me. Not for him, I think it is super he is joining our faith, and am sure he will be a great priest. It seems unfair to others who are not allowed to marry.
We have had priests whom I believe would make excellent husbands and fathers. But as a friend remarked, "Maybe they wouldn’t choose to marry even if it were possible."
Well, it just seems we may have fewer shortages and possibly less scandal if they had a choice. Will this ever be possible? Seems people like Scott Caton could lead the way. Being a convert I never really understood.
