House of Mercy founder honored

Sister Grace Miller, RSM, was presented with the Deacon Stan Zawacki Memorial Award during the diocesan deacons’ convocation held May 6 at the St. Padre Pio Chapel in Gates. Sister Miller is the longtime director of Rochester’s Hosue of Mercy. The award is named in memory of Deacon Stan Zawacki from the first class of diocesan permanent deacons in 1982.  It is presented each year at he convocation to honor a person or persons who have “exemplified a ministry in a diaconal sense of service.”  Also pictured are Deacon Dick Lombard and his wife, Rose Marie.
