Feminists Choosing Life of New York will sponsor a screening of "Eggsploitation," a documentary about the health risks of egg harvesting by the infertility industry, at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at the Little Theatre, 240 East Ave., Rochester.
The film features the stories of three young women who suffered extreme health consequences as a result of their egg donations; complications, the filmmakers say, can result from taking high doses of fertility drugs or the egg-retrieval surgery. There will be a question-and-answer session with film producer Jennifer Lahl following the film.
Tickets at the door are $9, $8 in advance and $6 with student ID. To purchase tickets, call Hannah Murphy at 585-478-6134 or e-mail info@feministschoosinglife.org.
