On Jan. 23 Diana Duell, who was principal at Rochester's Nazareth Hall and Nazareth Elementary School for eight years, became interim principal of St. Louis School in Pittsford. She replaced John Bellini, who announced he was stepping down as principals, Father Robert Ring, pastor of St. Louis Parish, said in his Jan. 22 parish bulletin column.

Bellini became principal of St. Louis in August 2010 and helped guide the school as it reverted from diocesan operation to parish operation. According to Father Ring, Bellini also adjusted the kindergarten program, strengthened the music program and developed curriculum to align with state changes in standards. He created an instructional coach position, standardized instructional time and helped create a school board.

"I regret having to say goodbye to such a gifted administrator, and wish him all the best," Father Ring said in the bulletin column.
