Interreligious supporter to speak

Gary Krupp, founder of the Pave the Way Foundation, which aims to bring about peace through positive interreligious gestures, will speak locally at 7 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Jewish Community Center in Brighton and at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in Basil Hall at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford.

Krupp, who is Jewish, wrote the book Pope Pius XII and World War II, The Documented Truth, and supported successful efforts to get Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem, to revise a placard that discussed the controversy over Pope Pius XII’s role during the Holocaust.

Pope John Paul II named Krupp Knight Commander of the Pontifical Equestrian Order of St. Gregory the Great and his rank was elevated in this pontifical order by Pope Benedict XVI. Krupp also received the Jewish National Fund’s Centennial Tree of Life Award.
