Isaac Swartzman, a seventh-grader at St. Mary School in Canandaigua, was the winner of the National Geographic Bee held at the school on Jan. 8.
Isaac will next take a written exam that will be sent to National Geographic Bee Headquarters. If he qualifies he will go to the New York state contest in the spring. State winners go on to Washington, D.C., for the finals and a chance to win a $25,000 college scholarship.
