A columbarium for entombment of cremated remains is now available at Calvary Cemetery in Ithaca.
The columbarium contains 96 niches — spaces that hold the cremated remains of the deceased. The facility marks the first phase of the cemetery’s newly developed Cremation Garden. The garden’s second phase will be completed in the summer of 2023 and will include construction of a walkway and apron around the columbarium. Landscaping and plantings will follow shortly thereafter. In addition, the columbarium will be dedicated following completion of the walkway.
Visitors are welcome to view the columbarium anytime Calvary Cemetery is open (daily, dawn to dusk). For details about the columbarium, including the opportunity to purchase a niche, visit www.immconch.org under the tab “Our Cemeteries” or call 607-272-5780.
