Jesus Christ died for all members of the human family

To the editor:

How did we get so divided as a nation? As a Church? People are so mad these days, they can hardly stand it when the other wins. And to make matters worse, name calling and violence become part of the equation. It becomes them and us.

As a church we say, “all are welcome.” As a nation sadly that does not apply any more.

What can we do in this current climate but realize we are God’s people whoever we are. Jesus Christ died on that cross for all of us, no matter the origin, no matter the color of the person, no matter where we come from or how we have arrived.

We need to realize that we are one family whether it is talked about or not. We need to believe that all are God’s children. As we say in Church, come in, be one family, “all are welcome.”

Deacon William F. Coffey
