Josephine Ryan, a longtime housekeeper at St. Mary Our Mother Parish in Horseheads, died July 5, 2005, at Seneca View Nursing Home in Montour Falls. She was 92 years old.
Mrs. Ryan was a native of Throop, Pa. She served at St. Mary Our Mother as housekeeper for two pastors, Father Francis J. Reilly and Father Bartholomew O’Brien. She was also active in the parish’s Altar and Rosary Society.
She was predeceased by her husband, Cornelius J. Ryan Jr., in 1958. Mrs. Ryan is survived by her son, Cornelius J. Neal (Marilyn) Ryan Jr.; former daughter-in-law, Sally Q. Ryan; sisters, Irene (Pete) Kucharski and Helen Yerka; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Ryan’s funeral Mass took place July 12 at St. Mary Our Mother Church, with Father Christopher Linsler, pastor, presiding. Interment was at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Throop, Pa.
