John L. Allen Jr., a senior correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter and a senior Vatican analyst with CNN, will open the 2010-11 lecture series of the William H. Shannon Chair in Catholic Studies at Nazareth College, 4245 East Ave., Pittsford.
Allen will speak on "The Future Church: How Ten Trends are Revolutionizing the Catholic Church" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at the Shults Community Center at the college, and on "All Things Catholic" at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at the college’s Golisano Academic Center.
