Journey on in faith, love

To the editor:

I was a parishioner of a recently closed Catholic church. I want to express to you — and I may be speaking for all the parishioners — my experience I have of loss.

When I looked up at the church’s ceiling for the last time, I could just imagine and hear the voices of those who had gone before us. They could have been our mothers and fathers, sons or daughters, brothers and sisters who were echoing our last prayer and singing our last song.

At the close of the Mass, I felt their presence among us; whispering to us: “You have done well being here.”

Now, with faith and love, we will journey on. Some of us will depart to other churches; some will carry on to Sacred Heart. But, as life continues on, let us not forget our shared experiences — some joyful, some sad — during our time attending Holy Rosary and Most Precious Blood.
