July 2011’s essay contest winner was Andrew Seniawski, who will be a fourth-grader at Spencerport’s Bernabi Elementary School in the fall. In response to What do you think is the most important lesson Jesus tried to teach us while he was here on Earth? Andrew wrote: “I think that the most important thing Jesus taught when he was on Earth was to believe in God and to pray and to have faith. By his example, we learn to be good people, not to fight, not to steal, murder, and never to end in violence. Oh and never, ever, ever say God’s name in vain. He also taught us to forgive and to love everybody even when they hurt us, like Jesus forgave when he died on the cross.”
