Kids, get your art supplies ready! Enter the 2016 coloring and art contest!

The Catholic Courier is holding a coloring contest and art contest for children ages 3-12 years old. The coloring contest is for children ages 3-6 years old and the art contest is for children ages 7-12 years old. Details for each contest are below.


Coloring Contest Details:

For children ages 3-6

The Catholic Courier is holding a coloring contest for children ages 3 to 6. There will be two age categories, 3 & 4 year olds and 5 & 6 year olds. We are asking children to do their best coloring of the image provided. They can use crayons, colored pencils and markers to color the image. Then with their parents’ or teachers’ help, they need to take a photo of their finished picture and email it to us. Catholic Courier readers will then vote on the best colored photo in each age category. The two photos (one in each age category) with the most votes will win a prize. All submissions will be shown in our Advent Calendar in December. 

RULES:

1. Print and color the nativity scene picture (Click here to print the photo)

2. Parents and teachers: Take a photo of your child’s or student’s colored picture and email the photo to newsroom@catholiccourier.com. Put in the subject line "Coloring Contest".
(In your email, include child’s full name, age, parish or school.)

3. Submissions will be accepted starting November 2, 2016. The deadline to email your picture is November 30, 2016. (Submissions will not be accepted after November 30)

NOTE: SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY MAIL! EMAIL ONLY!

VOTING: 

1. Starting December 1, head to Catholic Courier’s website to vote for the best colored photo

2. There will be two age categories: 3-4 year and 5-6 year olds.

3. The last day to vote for your favorite photo is December 14, 2016

4. The winners will be contacted via email and announced on December 15, 2016. 


Art Contest Details: 

For children ages 7-12 

The Catholic Courier is holding an art contest for children ages 7 to 12. There will be two ages categories: 7,8 and 9 year olds and 10, 11 and 12 year olds. We are asking children to create their best replica of the nativity using whatever supplies they want. They can be both art/craft supplies, computer design programs and household items (like shoeboxes, egg cartons, etc). Then with their parents’ or teachers’ help, they need to take a photo of their finished project and email it to us. People will then vote on the best nativity project in each age category. The two projects (one in each age category) with the most votes will win a prize. All submissions will be shown in our Advent Calendar in December.

1. Children: Use your imagination and whatever supplies you want to create your own version of a Nativity set (see below for some ideas!)

2. Parents and teachers: Take a photo of your child’s project and email it to  newsroom@catholiccourier.com. Put in the subject line "Art Contest"
