Parishioners from St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Ontario gathered with the Mexican community at Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission of St. Gregory’s Church in Marion to celebrate Las Posadas Dec. 17. Children dressed as Joseph and Mary led a procession through the neighborhood around the church, asking for lodging by singing a traditional song. After being turned away, also in song, they processed to the church where the “innkeepers” allowed them in. After entering the church, those gathered prayed the rosary together before singing Christmas carols and sharing a meal and treats from a piñata.
