To the editor:
The last issue of the Courier was a blockbuster one. The contents were a perfect way to help us during the Advent and Christmas seasons and beyond. Highlighting the issue was an in-depth story “Focusing on the Word of God” by John Thavis of CNS. Bishop Matthew Clark’s “Along the Way” mentioned Spirit Alive! and other opportunities it offers us in our diocesan spiritual renewal. We can also seek a greater meaning of the renewal by going online to www.rochesterspiritalive.org. It’s complete with topics like Stewardship and a host of other subjects that are helpful in forming a closer relationship with God. The good Bishop also introduced Project Mark, encouraging us to read the Gospel of Mark, during Advent and up to the last Sunday of Lent.
As a proud parishioner of Our Mother of Sorrows Church, the origin of which goes back to 1829, I owe a debt of gratitude to all those generations of men and women who have made our parish what it is today; and also to our current ministries, in their quest to bring us and our neighbors together in more of a oneness with God in the true spirit of stewardship. Last, but not least, there’s nothing like the power of the press our Courier gives in spreading the good news of the word of God throughout our Catholic Diocese and also online at www.catholiccourier.com.
