Leader to be honored for pro-life work

Anne LeBlanc, who has been a pro-life advocate for more than 30 years, will be presented with the Leo Holmsten Human Life Award Sept. 21 for her advocacy, including her service as president of the Rochester Area Right to Life Committee and as a board member of the New York State Right to Life Committee.

The award will be presented by the Leo Holmsten Human Life Committee, which is made up of individuals who believe life must be nurtured from the moment of conception through natural death. Dr. Holmsten, who died in 1997, worked as an obstetrician and gynecologist who early in his career worked as medical director for Planned Parenthood before he rejected abortion and began to work as a pro-life obstetrician, gynecologist and advocate.

The Holmsten award banquet will take place at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. Tickets are $50 a person and reservations are required by Sept. 14. For details, visit www.lhhl.org, e-mail info@lhhl.org, or call Dorothy at 585-342-4175 or Cathy at 585-749-8078.
