Lenten missions scheduled at diocesan parishes

Here is a listing of upcoming Lenten parish missions/retreats, based on information submitted by diocesan parishes:

March 10-12 — St. Mary of the Lake Church, Watkins Glen. Presenters: Father Frank Jones, CSsR, and Nancy Lynch (Notre Dame Retreat House, Canandaigua). Theme: “The Journey from Lent to Easter.” Schedule: 7-8:15 p.m. each night.

March 10-11 — Immaculate Conception Church, Ithaca. Presenter: Father Dennis Billy, CSsR (Notre Dame Retreat House, Canandaigua). Theme: “The Silence of Spring.” Schedule: 7 p.m. start each night.

March 24-26 — St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish. Presenter: Bishop Emeritus Matthew H. Clark. Theme: “CPR: Christ, A Personal Relationship.” Schedule: March 24 at Church of Epiphany, Sodus; March 25-26 at St. Mary of the Lake, Ontario. Starting time is 7 p.m. each night.

March 31-April 3 — Monroe County West Deanery. Presenters: Father George Heyman (March 31), Sister Kathleen Wayne, RSM (April 1) and Father Ed Palumbos (April 2). Theme: “Passion.” Schedule: March 31, St. Christopher Church, North Chili; April 1, Guardian Angels, Henrietta; and April 2, St. Mary of the Assumption, Scottsville. The sacrament of reconciliation also will be offered on April 3 at Guardian Angels. Starting time is 7 p.m. all four nights.

March 31-April 2 — Northern Tompkins parishes. Presenter: Bishop Emeritus Matthew H. Clark. Theme: “The Joy and Challenge of Discipleship — God’s Call and Our Response.” Schedule: March 31 at Holy Cross Church, Dryden/Freeville; April 1 at All Saints, Lansing; and April 2 at St. Anthony, Groton. Times are 7-8:30 p.m. each night.

March 31-April 2 — Holy Cross Church, Rochester/Charlotte. Presenter: Father Robert Kennedy, senior priest in the Diocese of Rochester. Theme: “Reconciling Embrace: Living in the Hospitality of God’s Heart.” Schedule: March 31, 7-8:15 p.m.; and April 1-2, 1:30-2:45 p.m. both afternoons with the program repeated from 7-8:15 p.m. both evenings.

April 1-3 — Tri-Parish Retreat. Presenter: Father Bill Jarema, founder and executive director of the Mercy Center in Colorado Springs. Theme: “Praying the Beatitudes: A Way of Living, Loving and Being in the World.” Schedule: Mass at 9 a.m. each day at Church of the Transfiguration, Pittsford; presentation each evening at 7 p.m. on April 1 at St. Louis Church, Pittsford; April 2 at St. Catherine of Siena, Mendon; and April 3 at Church of the Transfiguration.
