Plans are being made to organize the annual National Life Chain, which coincides with Respect Life Sunday and takes place from 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 5. There will be an informational meeting about the pro-life effort at 7 p.m. Aug. 25 at St. John the Evangelist Church’s parish center, 2400 Ridge Road West, Greece.
Life Chain is a silent peaceful witness of the sacredness of life from conception to natural death. Participants will form a chain on a public sidewalk along West Ridge Road in Greece and all will hold signs in support of life. Signs will be available Oct. 5 in the vestibule of the Greece church.
Participants also may opt to pray before the Blessed Sacrament during a rosary recitation, adoration and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at the church from 2 to 3:15 p.m. That will be followed by a Benediction and a talk by Catholic television and radio show host Johnnette Benkovic, who founded Women of Grace and Living His Life Abundantly International. Benkovic’s visit is being cosponsored by the Women’s Care Center, a crisis pregnancy center.
