Liturgies, retreat focus on healing

Father Richard McAlear, OMI, will lead healing liturgies and a healing retreat in the Rochester area during November.

He will offer healing liturgies at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, at St. Mark’s Church, 54 Kuhn Road, Rochester; at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at St. Patrick’s Church, 46 Stanley St., Mount Morris; and 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, at St. Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Road, Gates. The liturgies will feature a celebration of the Eucharist, prayers for healing and confession.

On Friday, Nov. 19, Father McAlear will lead a healing retreat at 7 p.m. at Holy Spirit Church, 1355 Hatch Road, Webster, where there will be a celebration of the Eucharist, prayers for healing and confession. The retreat, which is being billed as a day of spiritual renewal and teaching on the ministry of healing, will continue at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, at Holy Spirit’s parish center. Registration, which is $15, begins at 9:30 a.m., and the day ends with a 5 p.m. celebration of the Eucharist. Participants are encouraged to bring a brown-bag lunch, with dessert and beverages being provided.
