St. Matthew Church in Livonia is celebrating the feast of its patron saint in style — by hosting the Bishop of Rochester who shares that name as well.
On Friday, Sept. 21, the feast day of St. Matthew, Bishop Matthew H. Clark will visit the church beginning at 7 p.m. for a talk and reception. St. Matthew is located at 6591 Richmond Mills Road (Route 20A). The church opened in 2004, combining the former St. Joseph Parish in Livonia and St. William in Conesus. It is the only church in the Rochester Diocese named for that particular patron saint.
