Local artists produce variety of books, CDs

The following groups and individuals in the Diocese of Rochester produced books and music CDs in 2008:
 

‚Ä¢ Nancy Szembrot of Rochester’s Catholic Family Center, director of Just Friends Senior Center, coordinated a project to publish Jewels of Wisdom from Just Friends Senior Center Participants.The book includes photographs of and interviews with 13 people who attend the center. Others involved in the book project were Rosalie Muschal-Reinhardt, who conducted the interviews; Andrew Eskind, who took the photographs; and Danica Eskind, who completed graphic-design work.
 

• Sharon San Angelo, a parishioner of St. Michael Church in Newark, has written the nonfiction medical mystery The Lightning Within, which takes readers from the edge of brain-surgery survival to the hope of tomorrow.
‚Ä¢ “Let Us Adore Him” was recently released by The Dady Brothers (Joe Dady, a parishioner of St. Matthew Church in Livonia, and John Dady, a parishioner of The Cathedral Community) and friends. It features traditional Christmas hymns performed by the Dadys as well as The Rochester Boys’ Choir and The Newman Community Choir at SUNY Geneseo. The CD may be purchased or downloaded at www.BabyJe
susMusic.com. The project is part of The Christ in Christmas Initiative, which is dedicated to keeping the birth of Jesus as the focus of the Christmas season.
 

‚Ä¢ Dan Gansert of Horseheads has had four of his songs incorporated into albums that have been or will be released this year by Hilltop Records. His songs “Smile for Me” and “Panache” were included on the album “Land That I Love”; “I Dream of Christmas,” which was included on “The Glory of Christmas”; and “Dear,” which was included on “America.”
 

• Kariann LeMark of Canandaigua has released The Preparation for the Reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, under the pen name Kariann LaMarca.
