Jann Armantrout, diocesan life-issues coordinator, will give a presentation titled “Scientific Advances and Ethical Dilemmas in Stem Cell Research” at St. John’s School in Clyde from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9. Ethical stem-cell research is the diocesan parish-based advocacy goal this year.
Armantrout’s presentation is part of the Family Education Program, which is sponsored by St. John’s Parish and St. Patrick’s Parish in Savannah. There will be a presentation each month through April, and the other presenters include Dr. Muhammad Shafiq, imam at the Islamic Center of Rochester, and Dr. Joe Kelly, professor of Hebrew scriptures at St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry in Pittsford.
