Local parish to hold linen and tool sale

The Women and Men of St. Dominic will hold a linen and tool sale Aug. 5-8 at St. Dominic’s parish center, located at 99 W. Main St. in Shortsville. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Aug. 5-7 and from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Aug. 8.

This fundraising effort will be through Burlington Forge Linens, which will send two large box trucks “jammed full” of merchandise for the sale, according to Grace Muller, who is coordinating the event for the Women and Men of St. Dominic.

Among the sale items will be sheet sets, rugs, blankets, curtains, kitchen towels, chair pads, mattress pads, pillows, pillowcases, shower curtains, comforters and bedroom linens, as well as a large selection of household and automotive tools. A bake sale will be held in conjunction with the linen and tool sale.

At the close of the sale, Burlington Forge Linens will give a percentage of the profits to the Women and Men of St. Dominic. The parish group will in turn use its portion of the proceeds to fund the charitable causes and activities it supports, Muller said.

Several volunteers are needed to help fold the linens and arrange them on tables after they are unloaded from the truck, and several more are needed to help refold the linens and keep them organized during the sale. Cashiers will be provided by Burlington Forge Linens, so volunteers do not have to be directly involved with the selling.
