Local bass singer Marc Webster and 10 vocalists from Ithaca College will present a Christmas Concert from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at St. John of Rochester, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport.
Webster has performed with The Julliard Opera Center, Wolf Trap Opera, Seattle Opera and the Eastman Opera Theater. He is a member of the voice faculty at Ithaca College, and he is working toward a doctorate of musical arts at the Eastman School of Music.
The concert is a fundraiser for Mercy Prayer Center, which offers retreats, individual spiritual direction and enrichment programs. It is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, New York, Pennsylvania, and Pacific West Community and is open to people of all faiths.
General admission tickets are $20. Patron package tickets for $100 include two reserved seats, a listing in program and a pre-concert reception from 2 to 3 p.m.
The fundraiser is part of Mercy Prayer Center’s annual Parable of the Talents Challenge, in which participants are given $50 grants to create fundraising project that build community and raise awareness of the prayer center.
