Local Sister to head Buffalo Catholic schools

Sister of St. Joseph Carol Cimino will assume the role of superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Buffalo June 1. Sister Cimino, a native of Rochester, is a national consultant with William H. Sadlier Publishers, an adjunct consultant with Catholic School Management Inc. and has been an associate professor at Manhattan College since 1990. Since 1987, she has been executive director of Catholic School Administrators Association of New York.

Sister Cimino was assistant principal and director of development at the former Nazareth Academy, principal at the former St. Anthony School, faculty member and assistant principal at the former St. Agnes High School, and taught at St. Andrew’s Seminary (King’s Preparatory). She is the author of the catechists’ manual Come Gather Round, Continuing to Ensure a Future of Hope and Lessons Learned: 10 Tips for New Principals. She has been codirector of the National Catholic Educational Association’s Selected Programs for Improving Catholic Education and past president of the Empire State Society of Association Executives and the New York State Education Commissioner’s Nonpublic School Advisory Council.
