The Diocese of Rochester has put together a 30-second pro-life video for the video-sharing Web site YouTube that features people of a variety of ages and genders talking about how an abortion affected their lives.
The video will serve as a public-service announcement for Project Rachel, which has been operating locally for 13 years, said Jann Armantrout, diocesan life-issues coordinator.
The goal of the video is to reach out to people who might not otherwise know help exists for family and friends who have experienced abortions, said Armantrout, the administrator of the local Rachel Ministries, which includes the one-on-one counseling of Project Rachel and the group retreats known as Rachel’s Vineyard.
"The actors and actresses (in the video) are very reflective of the populations who have encountered abortions in their lives," Armantrout said.
The video, which Armantrout showed in September at a Milwaukee conference marking the 25th anniversary of the Project Rachel ministry, includes links to local and national Project Rachel resources.
