Inspirational Gift Shop, operated by Ithaca’s Immaculate Conception Parish, is closing.
The gift shop, which has existed since 1980, is located at 107 W. Seneca St. and has been the only Christian shop of its kind in the Ithaca area. However, according to a notice in the June 12 parish bulletin, there were not enough sales to keep the facility open, with steady operating losses incurred even though the shop had not been required to pay any rent to the parish. All items were put on sale June 11 with no further merchandise being ordered and an exact closing date still to be determined.
