Many Catholics are confused about election

To the editor:

Reading the article “Eucharist debate sparks questions” confirms that not only young voters are confused about voting in this presidential election, but also experienced voters as well as church leaders. We look to our church leaders for direction and advice, but this election leaves most with very little answers.

There is a source for Catholics to find some clear cut answers on EWTN. Father Corapi on Aug. 30 gave a talk on “Voting Your Conscience” that every Catholic should hear at least once. You can obtain this on video by contacting Santa Cruz Media toll free at 1-888-800-7084 or go to www.fathercorapi.com. If you are not familiar with Father Corapi, he is graced with the Spirit of boldness to speak the truths of our Catholic faith. In this segment he gives some specific insight on voting.

A good source to find a presidential election voter guide is www.votinginfo.org.This guide shows side by side how the candidates voted on various issues.

It is my sincere hope that all Catholics will be informed and exercise their right and privilege to vote. Don’t be included as one of the 40 million Catholics who did not vote last election. We have no easy decisions ahead of us. Let us all seek God’s discernment for how we should vote and pray God’s will be done.
