To the editor:
Abortion is an important issue in this upcoming election, but there are many other issues involved in this November’s election.
For instance, what are the moral values of the candidate that is running for election? Is the candidate a person of peace?
Job losses in this country, low pay, in fact, in many instances, below the poverty level. Are the poor, the middle class paying the taxes that the rich should be paying? Are the rich favored by tax cuts? Are the homeless, the hungry and the disenfranchised being served? Is health care available to everyone? These are only a few of the issues involved in this election.
Before we vote, we must consider the teachings of Jesus Christ, the social documents of the church and our conscience. We must choose the candidate that will try to alleviate as many of the social wrongs as possible. Only then, will we have a government of justice and peace.
