March for Life bus openings are offered

Openings are available from numerous locations across the Diocese of Rochester for the 2014 March for Life, set to take place Jan. 22 in Washington, D.C.

Buses will leave in the late evening of Jan. 21, returning approximately 24 hours later. The trip’s focal point will be a noon prayer rally followed by the 41st-annual March for Life at 1 p.m. from the National Mall to the Supreme Court building on Capitol Hill. Other opportunities in Washington will include Mass, a prayer service and visits to politicians’ offices.

Several groups offer reduced rates for youths as well as financial assistance for those who cannot afford the trip. According to information provided to the Catholic Courier, openings for the public are currently available for the following buses:

Monroe County

Southern Tier

Finger Lakes

There also will be two private buses from the diocese for young people. One is being coordinated by Rochester’s Holy Apostles Parish for city youths. Sponsorship donations are appreciated and can be made by contacting Father Tony Mugavero at 585-254-7170 or mugavero@dor.org.Meanwhile, a bus for youths will be available in central Steuben County.
