Registration is still open for a Southern Tier bus trip to Washington, D.C., for the March for Life.
The bus will leave at approximately 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, from the parking lot of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads. Among the planned activities in Washington on Jan. 23 are attending Mass; visiting politicians’ offices; attending a rally at the Washington Monument; and then taking part in the march to the Supreme Court Building. Participants will return home later that night.
Cost is $40 per person and $20 for children, with financial assistance available. Cash donations to cover organizing costs are also welcomed.
The march, which draws tens of thousands of demonstrators annually, is held to protest the legalization of abortions in the United States. It takes place on or near the anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision of Jan. 22, 1973.
