Mass opens Respect Life Month, honors healthcare workers

The Diocese of Rochester will commence Respect Life Month with a Mass Oct. 1.

Bishop Salvatore R. Matano will celebrate a Mass at 4 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park in Rochester. All are welcome to attend.

The Catholic Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month during the month, and the first Sunday of October is designated as Respect Life Sunday.

During the 4 p.m. Mass, Bishop Matano also will honor all health-care workers. All medical professionals are welcome to attend the Mass.
