McQuaid Jesuit High School, 1800 S. Clinton Ave., Rochester, will hold a 50th-anniversary celebration on Thursday, Sep. 30, at the school.
An anniversary exhibit/open house for faculty, staff, students and parents will be held from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. in the Father James J. Fischer, SJ, Hall. The open house will feature memorabilia and other displays. Evening festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with a dedication of McQuaid’s newly renovated chapel. Bishop Matthew H. Clark will preside at the dedication Mass. A 6:30 p.m. reception and a 7:30 p.m. dinner for invited guests will follow the ceremony.
The evening will end with a ceremony to induct the first members of the McQuaid Jesuit Round Table. Forty-five individuals — consisting of alumni, parents of alumni and students, former and current McQuaid staff, and McQuaid supporters — will be included in the first class of honorees. The purpose of the Round Table is to recognize individuals, living or deceased, who have distinguished themselves in their personal lives and careers, thereby reflecting McQuaid’s educational efforts.
