McQuaid Jesuit High School has been named a Scholar-Athlete School of Distinction for the 2016-17 school year by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA).
This honor was based on all 16 of the Knights’ varsity sports teams earning the Scholar-Athlete team award during their respective seasons. Scholar-Athlete squads are those on which at least 75 percent of the roster maintains a grade-point average of 90 or above.
The 16 varsity teams at McQuaid — an all-boys’ Catholic school located in Brighton — are baseball, basketball, bowling, cross-country, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, skiing, soccer, swimming, tennis, indoor track, outdoor track, volleyball and wrestling.
