Melita House, a group residence for young moms and their children run by Mercy Community Services, is purchasing the former St. Cecilia convent on Culver Road in Irondequoit and will be moving July 11.
The 12-bedroom Culver Road facility will house the organization’s emergency shelter and transitional housing programs.
Melita House is currently located on the former Holy Rosary Parish campus in Rochester, but this summer Providence Housing Development Corp. will begin converting the Holy Rosary buildings to affordable housing.
