Mentors needed for former offenders

The Faith Community Adult Mentoring Project is seeking Rochester-area volunteers to mentor individuals being released from jail or prison. Mentor training sessions will be held on Monday, Feb. 7, and Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Friends Meeting House, 84 Scio St., Rochester.

Prospective volunteers should be 18 or older, patient and nonjudgmental. They must attend both training sessions, be available from one to two hours per week for approximately six months to one year, and able to attend bimonthly “mentor reunions.”

For information or to make reservations for the training sessions, call 585/325-7727.
