This year 17 Sisters of Mercy in the regional community of Rochester celebrate their jubilees, representing 935 years of service. These jubilarians will be honored on June 4, 2005, by the sisters and associates of the Rochester community. It is truly impressive to realize the many hundreds of lives these sisters have touched in their service of those who are poor, sick and uneducated. Even in years of “retirement” the sisters continue to reach out to others through their prayers in the spiritual apostolate ministry. Each sister chooses an inspirational motto which is inscribed in the silver ring she receives at the time of her profession of perpetual vows.
We also remember our deceased jubilarians: Sisters M. Valerian McGraw, M. Ambrose Rogers, M. George Burns, M. Kieran Byrne, Margaret Ann Lawson (M. Callistus) and Karen Berl (M. Linus).
