Father Simeon Gallagher, a nationally renowned retreat and mission leader, will lead Mission 2007, set for Oct. 29-Nov. 1 at St. Mary’s Southside Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira.
Daily themes will include: Oct. 29 — "Faith: Trusting One’s Own Light," based on Matthew 2:1-12; Oct. 30 — "Journeying Together: Community as a Birthplace for Faith" (1 Corinthians 12:12-26); Oct. 31 — "A Faith that Works: The Way of Prayer and Justice" (Matthew 7:17-27); and Nov. 1 — "What We Receive, We Share: Service as the Heart of Faith" (Matthew 2:1-12).
Each day will include a 9 a.m. Mass and lecture by Father Gallagher, as well as a 7 p.m. service and lecture. The Capuchin priest also will speak at all weekend Masses Oct. 27-28.
