This year the Dominican Nuns are noting the 800th year of their foundation by St. Dominic. Locally, Monastery of Mary the Queen is celebrating that milestone along with the 63rd year of its founding in Elmira.
A celebration will take place at the monastery Thursday, Aug. 16, beginning at 11 a.m. Bishop Matthew H. Clark will preside at a Mass, followed by a buffet lunch. All are invited.
