Stephanie Honz, director of music and liturgy at St. Louis Church, won the trip of a lifetime.
Honz, an avid equestrian, won a trip for two the London Olympics to cheer the U.S. equestrian team after submitting a research paper on her experience with the equine veterinary product SUCCEED Digestive Conditioning Program. Honz claims the product helped solve the digestive upset issues of one of her horses, Gershwin, a retired A circuit hunter/jumper.
Honz, who had been accepted to veterinary school and hoped to have a dual career before she chose to pursue music full time, is no stranger to international travel. She has a concert career that has sent her around the world and has enabled her to perform for two popes. She is managed by a German agency and through World Library Publications of Chicago.
Yet the trip will be a first for Honz, who will be accompanied by her trainer and long time friend, P. J. Tymann.
“P. J. has been my rock through what has been a difficult year with Gershwin,” Honz said in a statement. “I am so glad I can gift her with a trip to watch the best of the best, sip high tea at the Ritz, and perhaps even get a glimpse of the Royal Family!”
