The commission on Christian Muslim Relations and the Muslim Catholic Alliance will present a fall 2012 program series titled "Christianity and Islam: A Dialogue between Perspectives" at the Islamic Center of Rochester, 727 Westfall Road, Rochester.
Dr. Paul Hammer and Shalahudin Kafrawi will speak about "The Bible and Quran: A Dialogue Between Perspectives" in a talk from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3. Deacon George Dardess and Yasmin Kabir will speak on "Jesus and God: A Dialogue Between Perspectives" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10. Denise Yarbrough and Dr. Muhammad Shafiq will speak on "Allah and God: A Dialogue Between Perspectives" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17.
Finally, Deacon Dardess will facilitate a presentation about Islamophobia in America during a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Islamic Center. Participants are asked to bring a dish to share and keep in mind Halal and Kosher requirements, which, among other regulations, prohibit pork products and the mixing of meat and dairy products.
