The Nazareth Academy basketball team earned their ninth Section 5 crown in the past 12 seasons by defeating Wellsville 60-50 March 5 at Gates-Chili High School. Despite that success, the Laser athletic program will cease to exist in June. Nazareth’s school system is consolidating with Rochester’s Aquinas Institute beginning in the 2010-11 school year.
