A local Catholic cemetery organization has a new chief executive officer.
Lynn Sullivan, who has been interim general manager of Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester and Ascension Garden in Henrietta since March, became CEO Aug. 1, the organization’s board of directors announced in a press release Aug. 5.
Additionally, Jack Drexel was promoted Aug. 1 to director of project development and parish cemetery consulting. Drexel was formerly director of operations.
Sullivan joined Holy Sepulchre and Ascension Garden in December 2012 as chief financial officer. She previously served in senior leadership roles with Eastman Kodak Co., Harris Interactive, Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired — Goodwill, and Paychex.
A parishioner of St. Louis Church in Pittsford, Sullivan also serves on many boards, including the Mary Cariola Children’s Center, Rochester Business Alliance Small Business Council, Rochester Chapter of Financial Executives International, Rochester Institute of Technology alumni association and the University of Rochester Simon School’s alumni association. She also is a member of the Rochester Rotary organization, Rochester Women’s Network, Women’s Executive Network and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
A parishioner of Holy Cross Church in Charlotte, Drexel has served Holy Sepulchre Cemetery and Ascension Garden for nearly 36 years, and he assisted in the addition of Christ Our Light Mausoleum and the design, construction and opening of Ascension Garden. He is a certified Catholic cemetery executive and treasurer for the Catholic Cemetery Conference as well as a faculty member with its School of Leadership. Drexel also is a member of the state Association of Cemeteries and a member of the Sons of the American Legion.
