New ministry begins in Corning for region’s young adults

Corning’s All Saints Parish is forming a new ministry in its region for young adults ages 18-35.

The initiative’s inaugural event took place Oct. 22, with a coffee hour in the All Saints Academy gymnasium following the 10:30 a.m. Mass. According to a publicity flyer, the ministry is open to “young Catholics seeking to connect with their peers in meaningful encounters with the Lord through acts of community, service, entertainment and prayer.”

Serving as coordinator of the initiative is Daniel Trosa, a young adult who was featured in the Catholic Courier’s “Profiles in Faith” series in September 2023. In that story, Trosa noted his desire to launch a ministry that includes Catholic young adults not only from the Corning area but also from neighboring Southern Tier parishes in the Diocese of Rochester, saying that many people in his age range have expressed a desire for such opportunities.
